This past Tuesday, the Cam Newton Foundation launched its upcoming program Un1ted As 1 in partnership with The Winters Group, and we couldn’t be more excited.  The program is designed for middle school youth to intentionally explore diversity and learn to be inclusive leaders with the tools to make a positive impact in their communities.

The Cam Newton Foundation (CNF) recognizes the value of starting young and equipping youth with tools for working as a team and embracing diversity. We look forward to the opportunity to work with them in preparing the next generation of world-changers. We know that teaching these skills has the power to transform and alleviate many of the societal problems we face today, and we are honored to partner with an organization like CNF that is willing to be bold and inclusive in the quest to make an impact.

The CNF will launch a pilot program of Un1ted As 1 in Charlotte, NC in January 2018 over the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend.

As part of the program, participants will gain experience:

  • Working together, embracing diversity and solving problems
  • Understanding the power of influence and wielding it to impact social change
  • Navigating and discussing real issues in today’s society and seeing these issues as opportunities for positive change

Approximately 60 youth from different backgrounds will participate.  These students have shown a desire to embrace teamwork and discover their own power to enact social change.  The pilot program participants are from three Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System middle schools (Community House, Coulwood and Piedmont IB), as well as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Charlotte.
